Board Of Directors Medical Advisory Board Global Leadership Team

Ernest Waaser

Chief Executive Officer

Ernest Waaser was named Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Systagenix Wound Management in June 2011. Prior to joining Systagenix, he was President of Teleflex Medical, a $1.5 billion global supplier of single use disposable products for vascular access, respiratory, urology, anesthesia and surgical applications. Prior to Teleflex, Mr. Waaser served as President & CEO of Hill-Rom, a global supplier of hospital beds and therapeutic products for wound and pulmonary care. He also spent over ten years in the medical imaging industry, during which he served as Chief Operating Officer of Sterling Diagnostic Imaging, a successful private equity backed spinout from DuPont. Mr. Waaser holds a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from Mississippi State University and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of South Carolina.

Christopher M.Fashek

Senior Healthcare Executive

Chris Fashek is the former Vice Chairman of KCI USA, a medical equipment manufacturer based in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to KCI, Mr. Fashek held leadership positions in Sterling Drug, a division of Eastman Kodak. Mr. Fashek currently serves on a number of boards, including Spiracur, Hip Innovation Technology, the IDN Summit and the World Craniofacial Foundation. Mr. Fashek received his B.A. at Upsala College and his MBA from Fairleigh Dickson University.

Christian Ahrens

Non-Executive Director

Mr. Ahrens is a Managing Director of OEP. Prior to joining OEP in 2001, he worked at Goldman Sachs. He is active in OEP’s healthcare and travel industry investments and currently serves on the boards of Systagenix, Arthrocare and Travel Leaders Group. Mr. Ahrens received his A.B. in Modern European History from Princeton University.

Greg Belinfanti

Non-Executive Director

Mr. Belinfanti is a Managing Director of OEP. Prior to joining OEP, he served as a Vice President in the Investment Banking division of Lehman Brothers, specializing in Global Healthcare. Mr. Belinfanti serves on the Boards of Systagenix, Apollo Health Street and Prodigy Health Group. Mr. Belinfanti received his B.A. in Politics from New York University and his J.D. from Harvard University.

Gordie Nye

Non-Executive Director

Gordie Nye is currently the Managing Director of Group Outcome, LLC, and the former CEO of Zeltiq Aesthetics. Previously, he was CEO of REVA Medical as well as President and CEO of two former Johnson & Johnson divisions – "A" Company Orthodontics and Critikon after they were acquired in management buyouts. During his tenure, he led comprehensive product line overhauls prior to their eventual sales to Sybron International (now part of Danaher) and GE Medical Systems, respectively.

In 2003, Mr. Nye joined Prism VentureWorks as a General Partner in its life sciences investment team where he focused on medical devices. During this time, he served on the boards of several Prism portfolio companies. He also spent nearly 15 years in the consumer packaged goods & leisure business in a variety of marketing, sales and general management roles for companies including Gillette, Olin Ski Company, Reebok and L.A. Gear.

Mr. Nye received his MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College where he also received his undergraduate degree.

Bob Stockman

Non-Executive Director

Bob Stockman is currently Chairman of the Board of REVA Medical, a medical device company developing a novel resorbable, drug-eluting stent. He is also President and founder of Group Outcome LLC, a US based merchant banking firm which deploys its capital and that of its financial partners in private equity and venture capital investments in medical technology companies.

Mr Stockman also co-founded and provided the startup financing for CentriMed, which thrives today as the Global HealthCare Exchange, the world’s leading electronic exchange for hospital supplies. Mr. Stockman and his partners have been founders and CEOs of over 16 successful medical products companies.

Prior to establishing Group Outcome LLC, he spent 18 years with Johnston Associates and Narragansett Capital Corporation, where he focused on healthcare transactions. Mr Stockman also serves on the board of directors for a number of other healthcare companies. He received his MBA from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth and a Bachelors degree from Harvard College.

Oern R. Stuge

Non-Executive Director

Oern R. Stuge is founder of ORSCO Life Sciences AG, through which he currently has several Executive & nonexecutive board directorships/advisory roles incl. Mediq NV, Nobel Biocare AG, Impulse Dynamics NV, Bonesupport AB, Quentiq AG, Aleva SA, HealthCap AB. He joined the Board of Directors of Systagenix in October 2011.

Dr. Stuge has previously 12 years experience at Medtronic Inc. in different positions incl. Senior Vice President & President Cardiac Surgery, President EMEA, Latin America, Canada & India, member of the Executive Committee & Operating Committee. Prior hitherto, 6 years experience at Abbott Laboratories, 7 years at a Norwegian start up incl. the position of CEO, and 6 years as a practicing physician. He graduated as an MD from University of Oslo and received his MBA from IMD, Switzerland.
